Toshiba Satellite C855-S5118 15.6-Inch Discounts

Deanne Adler (Delray Beach, FL, US) :
I'm enjoying this computer and so far, after a couple of weeks, I'm having no problems with it. Windows 8 takes some getting used to but it's easier than I expected. When I go into normal programs I use the desk top which is readily available in the start menu. I don't use all of the programs in the start menu by choice. Some of them are great. Others I just have no interest in. The display is beautiful and sharp. As of now I am very happy with this purchase. I would give it a 5 star rating but it's to new.

Dequane Thomas (Fairburn, GA. USA) :
I have to say when I got it first and saw the specifications on the processor being 1.10gHz I was upset to see such a small processing speed, but I don't know what Toshiba did but the graphics card, sound card and unique processing quality was somewhat mind-blowing. For someone that is getting a laptop for the first time or wants something small that packs a punch to be used for business but still wanna play a few game (for me it was fifa 13) but still rock out to music, I can say this pc is capable of doing that

Steve-o "the big kahuna" (Florida) :
Got my wife a Toshiba satellite a few years ago and it's working just fine. This came up on sale and given my earlier luck, I bought it online for $260. So far, it's excellent. Very fast and windows 8 is intuitive and fairly easy to work with so far. It's not a thousand dollar computer, but for what I need it for, it's just fine. This is a fine computer for the money and I'm rolling right along with it.

Toshiba Satellite S875-S7140 17.3-Inch Discounts

Amy Wilhelm (New Hyde Park, NY USA) :
I did quite a bit of shopping around to find a good laptop for not a ridiculous amount of money. I'm very happy with the choice I've made. I use this computer primarily for work, and the programs I use are graphically intensive and rough on a processor. This computer maintains its speed regardless of what I've got running. It's comfortable to use, doesn't get hot on your lap, the graphics are great, and it looks cool too! Many have complained about Windows 8. I'm actually enjoying it now that I've become acclimated to using it. As for long term usage of this computer, I can't yet say, but so far I am very impressed.

NGHIA H. PHO (VN) :
It works very good and fast, a lot of space on the Hard drive It is not too heavy and so quiet.
I read a review about this Laptop from some reviewer who said that it does not have a LED
on the "Caps Lock" key, it is not true, I see the green light when I hit the Caps Lock key.
I have the Laptop just 4 weeks but I love it.

Chuck (CA) :
got this item in a timely fashion, packaged carefully, works great.this Toshiba is a quality machine and I am very pleased with its performance.i highly recommend this product.

Toshiba C855D-S5103 15.6-inch Discounts

Rat Momma (San Jose, Costa Rica) :
Not a techie, won't say a thing about the innards except it seems to perform well for someone who doesn't know what the heck it has on the inside. Windows 8 is truly as awful as everyone says. If you can, partition disk and put Linux in there. Pros, having a numerical keyboard is great, wonderful monitor size. Cons, the keyboard layout is odd (nothing is where you expect it to be), horrible track pad, no volume keys. Then again, for that price, I suppose it's OK.

KVanB "Karen" (Racine, WI USA) :
I love the computer itself, but I am having a difficult time adjusting to Windows 8. With all the swiping from different directions to do different things, I'm always swiping something when I don't want to.

Camile Bailey (florida, miami, usa) :
t was my first time buying from the seller, but no complaints. The laptop is brand new and as advertised. Great design and sleek with an overall professional look. It's the perfect size and not bulky at all. The keyboard is very comfortable and the texture of the keys makes for easy typing. It's my first Toshiba and it has made a great impression.

Austin Grace (Orlando fl) :
Defanatly a very good laptop for the money. I'd recommend you shop around. I picked this up at a local retailer for 629. I don't think you can do high end gaming on this computer though. I have yet to see this computer slow down. I love how you get 4 usb 3.0 ports. the speakers sound awesome and the mic is good as well. I really don't think you will find a computer with this much performance for the money. Plus the expandability to 16 gb ram is awesome. I picked up the coolermaster x2 notebook cooler for this thing and it works perfectly to keep it cool. The battery life is not the best. I'd say 3 hours or so. I do wished it had bluetooth but it's not a deal breaker for me. The keyboard is not all that bad. The best keyboard I ever used on a laptop was on a macbook pro but this keyboard is not bad.

Paul Rossi Rampersad (Grand Forks, ND, US) :
the computer is fast and efficient, plus the backlit keyboard is wonderful.. i will recommend this for anyone. :) windows 8 takes a bit getting used to and i hate that there is no start button but the computer workd fine :)

AIRizona (WA) :
Shopped around a lot before buying this laptop. Other laptops may have more features/performance but I felt the $$$ went up faster than the features. Very happy with this purchase, definitely got my moneys worth.

Toshiba C55-A5220 15.6" Discounts

Dubindvm "sugartaffy" (GA) :
I purchased this laptop for a family member who wanted a computer for word processing, web surfing, and very light online gaming (no heavy graphics). So far, this has been perfect for her. The speed is more than adequate for everything she needs done, and setup was easy. Like the other Toshiba notebook models I've tried, the keyboard feel wasn't to my personal preference, but she has no complaints.

Candace (US) :
This is a decent laptop for the price. I purchased this for school purposes. It does the job. I love how quiet and cool it stays no matter how long it's on. The material it's made of feels cheap to the touch. I have been using this laptop for a few weeks now without any issues, until the last two days. I have not added anything to the computer to cause it to be slow although the last two times i've tried starting it up it doesn't want to respond. The scroll feature on the mouse pad will randomly stop working as well as the key pad. Not a big fan of the windows 8 either.

Jon D. Satko "jdsatko" (Porterville, CA) :
This is a most excellent computer for basic needs: DVD movies, internet, email, document writing, simple software. It has the fastest warm-up time of any computer I have ever experienced. From pushing the power button, it was displaying the Start menu in 9 seconds. At 1 minute, 3 seconds, I was on amazon.com, ready to write this review. I highly recommend this laptop.

Toshiba Satellite C55-A5246NR 15.6-Inch Discounts

Karon Harripaul (Trinidad and Tobago) :
The laptop performs well for its specs and was good for the price.
It starts fast and connecting wireless is easy. It is good for everyday use and the internet. The quality is good.
Windows 8 takes getting used to. However, this is done easily and works well on the laptop.

rafisher1 (MA) :
I just finished with a nice Toshiba customer support woman who knew her stuff - it seems Toshiba changed their business policy and we can't download the driver package, but for $29.95 you can buy a set of restore and driver disks to get the 3rd disc to reinstall the motherboard drivers. Or you can pay through the nose for expert help to get those drivers. They no loger have all of the drivers available for download on their web site. WOW - I guess they don't want any new business!
Because of their business policy changes, I am now recommending to all of my clients to stay far away from Toshiba products.

Freddy Hung (NJ) :
This is my 5th toshiba laptop at home, the others being sold, given away as a gift for smaller kids, but never having a failure. This laptops seems to be no exception to the rule!. Excelent built quality. Good speed. Solid unit. I've specially liked the fact that it came with 6GB of ram instead of the 4GB advertised.!

Toshiba Qosmio X875-Q7390 17.3-Inch Discounts

Danny (Anchorage, Alaska) :
I got the Qosmio laptop. Few weeks back, and I'm quite impressed with it. Its pretty damn fast when its starts up and takes you straight into the main menu where you can select what you an to do. I always been a fan of Nvidia graphics, and playing the high-end games like Crisis 3 on it doesn't pose any issue on the unit. It'll get hot while running games like that mainly because of all four processors are running. But if you want to keep it cool, I suggest buying a cool in pad designed for gaming laptops. These things deffinately do a god job sucking that hot air out from beneath it. I would choose this gamin g platform over Alienwhare anytime.

Simmsd (South Carolina) :
This computer is ideal for viewing 3d blu ray movies as well as streaming HD or SD films...
Although the computer is a bit on the heavy side, and the battery life is not that impressive, the other features positively outweigh these two minor issues....I am very pleased with my purchase..

Garry (Clawson, Michigan) :
Great all around computer, fast for gamming and very well built and also I find this one easy to use Their are a couple built after this one came out but the reviews are not as good as this one. I have hade many computers in my life made by different companies and so far Toshiba brand is one that you don't have to worry about any model. My wife has a Toshiba that is one of the reasons I bought this one. (Great tech support also)

Toshiba Satellite S855-S5378 15.6-Inch Discounts

Satyavrat Joshi "Satya" (SFO, CA) :
I have used two Toshiba laptops, this one and another Satellite model before this. Both of them have serious problem with Wi-fi connectivity. I simply didn't realize it until I bought a Dell laptop for my mom. Both Toshiba laptops would disconnect from Wi-fi after sometime, especially if I was downloading big files, I had to reset the router each time. I kept blaming Comcast first, I even called them and complained. Then I started blaming the router. Only after I bought Dell's laptop which stayed connected from all rooms despite the file sizes etc did I realize that the real problem was with the laptop. I even checked the Wi-fi settings to see if my settings were the problem. But they were not.
I kid you not. These laptops really do have serious Wi-fi connectivity problem and don't stay connected unless you are sitting next to the router. I rarely write reviews etc. But I wanted to make an exception in this case. I am simply fedup.

Ellee27 (Charlotte, NC) :
So far, I am very happy with this machine. It is sleek and attractive, and seems solidly constructed. That is, there are no assembly issues as another reviewer experienced. I got it replace an HP, which suffered a massive hard drive failure. The Toshiba powers up very quickly and the display is gorgeous--it is usually connected to a Samsung SyncMaster. The keyboard and touchpad are well designed and easy to use, although I usually connect a trackball and regular keyboard. I'm not a big fan of Win8 with its lack of privacy, optimization for touch screens, and the unnecessary (for me) Start Screen. To work around some of these not-so-charming new features and to have a more palatable user interface, I installed Classic Shell. (See [...] or sourceforge.net; you can also find reviews in PCWorld.) Regardless, I'm still trying to get used to Win8 (with its heavy reliance on the Cloud, where all the games now live) and I may yet go through the hassle of installing Win7.

Donald James "donjames150" (Moncure, NC, USA) :
We're Windows7 users, so Win8 takes a bit getting used to, but so far, it seems
to be a fine machine. Lots of muscle, good display. I like the mousepad, it had
a good feel to it. We bought it for video editing, I have no doubt it will be up to
the job.

Toshiba Satellite U845W-S410 14.4-Inch Discounts

Rick Shaffer (Italy) :
I'm very happy with this Ultrabook. It does everything I need it to do, and probably a lot more. But it's very thin and easy to stow in my briefcase, leaving a lot of room for other stuff. But the best feature is that it fires up very fast, so, if I want to use it for as little as 5-mins, I don't take most of that time waiting for it to be ready. At most, it takes 15-seconds to be ready to go. I'm a teacher, and move from classroom to classroom, so waiting around for a computer to get its act together isn't in the cards. This machine fills the bill!

DJ HERE (San Diego, CA) :
The ultra wide HD screen resolution of 1736x768 is great for working on two things at once. The screen is unfortunately not an IPS panel, but the viewing angles (from the sides) are decent. The back-lit keyboard is also a huge plus, however adjusting is settings requires you to play around in the bios. The built is good, with little or no keyboard flex and the feature set is great with the USB 3.0, network, HDMI, and audio/mic out. Sadly though, I estimated that battery life at just under 4:30 with the screen at 60%, wifi/bluetooth on, listening to streaming radio. This is a far cry from the claimed 8 hours plus, but if you utilize some power saving features you might be able to squeeze another hour or so out of it.

Zoso444 (Beijing, China) :
I bought this ultrabook for my daughter after graduation. She heads to college soon and wanted something small and light on the big campus. The battery seems to keep a long time. The screen is amazingly clear. We are very impressed with our purchase. The price was right for a sweet ultrabook!

Toshiba Satellite U945-S4380 14.0-Inch Discounts

J. Hunt "part time shopper" (usa) :
I'm a computer nerd of old, but lately I just like to use them and not try to fix them or set them up. Back in the days of early laptops, in the 90s, I was not a big fan of Toshiba. This time around I figured why not, because it has better than the average specifications compared to the Sony, HP, Dell, etc. More memory, faster processor, equals faster computer.
This thing has full size keyboard, large screen, but still super light. For the price, I really don't think that there is a way to beat it.
We have only had it for a month, but in that time I think I have figured out that this will do just fine.

David King (Burma) :
Light weight, fast and portable. Works great in my work environment as I have a Toshiba 3.0 docking station also. I can watch video's or attach to HDTV. I use Skype to make video or receive/make audio calls if necessary. It's battery life and small profile makes it perfect for me and it can play video's on any browser. I just wish it had a touch screen but I will add a touch monitor to my docking station so I guess it is somewhat of a work around. The price was competative and in line with other PC's but as for me I find it a hundred times more useful than a smart phone. I just plug it into the docking station and I have the computing power no phone can match! Besides when I go to dinner with my kids I don't spend the evening texting my every move. I'll read my e-mail after I'm done!

Pegasus (Lockport, NY USA) :
Great ultrabook for the price. I not get a chance to do too much comparison before I bought this. This is extremely fast and reliable. However can't say the same thing about Windows 8... Pretty annoying almost "android" wannabe features.
The keyboard on this laptop requires a bit getting used as it is pretty slim but you'll get used to it within a few days use.
The sound on this is not great but that is not surprising on an ultrabook. You'd need external speakers if you want to listen to music on this. I use Skype frequently so feedback I get from the other side is very clear voice and picture.
Really light and I find myself using this versus my tablet these days because of the keyboard. Hope this helps!

Toshiba Satellite U925T-S2120 12.5-Inch Discounts

Papaw of 1-2-3-4-5-?- "Missionary" (Peru) :
Very different from a normal laptop, works great, but not having some type of protection for the screen is a slight draw back. I used a 3.0 usb external hard drive to install most of my heavy ended programs and it works great. This allows me to not fill up the 128 gig digital memory. I also use an Anker 3.o USB docking station. The entire system runs fast and smooth with two extra monitors (one being a flat screen TV). Had no problems. When going portable (unhooked from docking station) it is like having a very large tablet. This is nice for watching movies, or browsing internet while watching TV. The back-lit keyboard is really nice. I recommend it.

Daniel Urrea (Lexington, KY) :
Is a nice product as well i guess the only bad thing i see on it is the design of the back camera with doesn't work when it gets to tablet mode. I suggest to buy a case for it to travel and open it everywhere. The other stuff is nice, the keyboard was more than i expected. is a very fine product.

R. Aghevli (Denver, CO) :
It's nice to see others have given this a high rating. I have had amazing luck with Toshiba laptops for many years. I can't say that for this one. My first one arrived with a non-working touchscreen that Toshiba tech support couldn't fix, so it went back. The second one has super slow wireless (have updated the drivers to the latest version and talked to Toshiba tech support and reset it twice to factory settings). I am very disappointed with this laptop. It's a great idea but the buggy wireless situation renders it useless (especially since it doesn't have a Ethernet port). I bought the two from a different seller who takes them back no-questions asked, so got lucky there.

Toshiba Satellite U945-S4130 14-Inch Discounts

Drew K. (WA) :
Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase. This computer is very thin and light, makes it easy to take anywhere. Performance is very good. It boots and shuts down very quickly. Screen quality is about what you'd expect at this price point. Colors are good. Viewing angles aren't too bad considering. The keyboard definitely takes some getting used to. One thing this model seems to sacrifice in keeping it so thin is key travel. Key travel is very shallow, but over time you'll get used to it. Also important to note that the i3 model does not come with backlit keyboard. One of the main reasons that I purchased this ultrabook was it's ease of access to RAM and hard drives, planning on upgrading both very soon. Seems many ultrabooks make it quite difficult to get to these components. On this machine, it's just one screw and removal of the plastic panel to get full access.

stan mccray (NJ) :
The product stopped working after the third use. It was found to have a defective hard drive (both by Geek Squad and Toshiba). Although defective, it cannot be returned due to "policy" which states opened laptops from this seller, even when found to be defective, cannot be returned. Therefore, Amazon cannot refund the $500 purchase.

Abhinav Jain "Abhinav Jain" (USA) :
This is the best configuration i found but its not cheap as it should be for this configuration . touch pad is totally crap and more over keyboard is pathetic .

TOSHIBA L75D-A7283 17.3" Discounts

Tennyson (WA) :
I needed a laptop for school, and as an older father and husband, did not have time to wade through all the different descriptions and such. So, followed consumers reports on this and it's amazing. Great look and feel, LARGE screen, and plenty fast. The resolution and sound are awesome too. For less than $500, you just can't beat this deal.

M. Mays (NJ) :
This is my 3rd Toshiba Satelite (never paid more than $450) and they last about 4-5 years of daily use before keys wear and system performance gets sluggish, but a real workhorse laptop for nearly the bottom of the barrel pricing. The Quad-core processor and 6G RAM was worth the extra $60 dollars over the lowest base model. It zips along pretty good and is supposedly a game rated laptop although I'm not a gamer. The only complaint I have is the touchpad has a few too many bells and whistles I have yet to figure out - be careful where you let your fingers wander! I use an external mouse so that's not big a deal most of the time. Also still trying to figure out Win 8 but that's not Toshiba's fault. I just hit the App key and click on the Desktop tile to get back to the land of familiarity.

D. Comiskey "devrock1" (NH, USA)
My brother in law bought this to use after having to give back his Mac at his old job. I don't know if it's Win 8 or the laptop itself, but frankly, it's a piece of garbage and I'm having him return it tomorrow. The computer is CONSTANTLY locking up so that you have to hard reset it. And this happened 3 times during the initial setup!
Windows 8 is an abomination of an OS. It's by far the worst thing I've ever used. I attempted to "upgrade" this laptop to Window 7 Pro, but it just refuses to recognize the DVD. I've worked in IT for quite a long time and this is one of the most frustrating things I've ever worked on. No wonder no businesses use this OS.

Toshiba Satellite U945-S4390 14.0-Inch Discounts

S. Power (Austin, Texas, United States) :
There is a bigger difference between 14.0 inches and the smaller sized screens that other "Ultrabooks" have than you might expect. In my opinion, the larger screen on this laptop is worth the slight increase in size and weight. The price is about where it should be also.
This machine is fast, attractive, and seemingly well-made. I am happy with this laptop and think that you will be also.

Jocill (Mission, TX) :
Extremely light weight, solid construction, looks so nice and professional. I used for many hours and don't get hot which surprise me a lot. I'm still on the learning curve for the Windows 8 but is something that sooner or later you need to do. I love to have the solid state disk cache, you can turn ON/OFF your ultrabook in seconds. the LED backlight keyboard is awesome, no problems with the WiFi connections, I can work or surf on the web without disturb my wife in the bedroom. You can't find a better deal for this price.

Iles Fan "Gary" (Boston, MA USA) :
This was a Christmas present for my 19 year old son and sophomore international business major. I will tell you he really enjoys this laptop. He describes it as fast and loves the mouse pad which he states is really responsive. It is very slim and lightweight and his college roommate, who is a techie, says this is the one to buy.

Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7332 17-Inch Discounts

Sir George Martini "Verbalosity" (Fromage Au Gratin, Wisconsin) :
This Toshiba is a great laptop for the price and it has a decent amount of memory and disk space, although you can find it cheaper elsewhere. The display is slightly larger and movies look good on it. I personally dislike Windows 8, but that's a minor problem once you get used to it. I also purchased a Toshiba 3TB external hard drive for all my movies and both work excellently.

Richard Perdue "sage533" (Denison, Tx USA) :
I have bought several lately of various brands, 2 of this one for me and my wife. This one is the fastest. Windows 8 can take some adjustment if one is not tech oriented, so I downloaded classic shell and it opened up old school familiarity with new app functionality.

MJC (Staten Island, NY) :
Like others I have found this laptop for a much lower price (in my case $299 after rebate) at local brick and mortar office supply stores (Office Depot). It is last years model so it is on clearance. It runs fine and has a very, very nice screen and keyboard. It took a while to get used to the mouse pad but with a bit of tweaking of the settings it settled down OK. Still, it works much better with an external mouse but that is just my personal preference. Windows 8 took 1/2 to get used to but Toshiba provides a single click link to the traditional desktop. My fifth version of Windows so I guess I've gotten used to making transitions. So I am very, very happy. Was ready to spend up to $200 more to get a 17.3 inch screen with 500+ GB of disk and 6+ GB of RAM but didn't need to.

Toshiba Satellite C55T-A5247 15.6-Inch Discounts

Nadia (Sacramento, CA) :
I got the laptop as I'm doing my degree online and it's very good so far...After reading the negative reviews about windows 8 i was a bit skeptical but I must say the touch screen has made it very manageable. The only hang up I had was the lack of a start button, which anyone would find weird since start buttons have alwayssssss been present. However, i just downloaded a start button and all is well.

Jamesmid (california) :
This laptop has worked really well as a starter for Windows 8. Being able to switch between a mouse and pointing a finger and touching the screen has made the transition much easier to Windows 8. It runs quietly without the noise of a cooling fan and is light enough that it can truly be used in the lap while sitting in a recliner. The pricing was very reasonable and makes it a good value as well.

Joseph Olson "desert runner" (gulfport mississippi) :
Well contrary to other reviews I read bout this unit ,which im typing on to do this review , windows 8 take some time to getting used to and the speakers are very loud compared to other reviews listed as well I love it , but I am taking precautions by adding an extra antivirus and im gonna back up the entire system on a 3 terabyte external hard drive since drivers only come off the Toshiba website if for some reason you have to re download them , (no driver disks came with unit ) but then my previous Toshiba didn't have any either . but I am very happy with this computer

Toshiba KIRAbook 13 i7 Touchscreen Discounts

Mary (NC) :
Ok, I am so happy. Just got my Kirabook and it is everything I hoped it would be...and with some great services which is a new twist. I really wanted a lightweight beautiful laptop but didn't know what to get, and I didn't really want to go Apple. I like Windows. I know it, it works great for me and I'm super productive with it. I did some research and David Pierce's review on The Verge convinced me to look closely at Toshiba's new Kirabook. He said, "the first truly premium Windows 8 laptop we've seen in a long time, competitive across every spec and feature with the best of what Apple can offer". I love that it comes with two years of Adobe Photoshop, security and 24/7 support which gives me good peace of mind but the best thing is how beautiful the display is. I can't get over how crystal clear it is - this device is fast and sleek. Love it. Thanks Toshiba for bringing back some powerful beauty!

Unzipt (Fort Lauderdale, FL USA) :
I love this computer. I have an Asus Zenbook ultrabook computer. I liked it but it had very "soft" keys that made it difficult to use for word processing. Granted, I did use it to prepare a very complicated legal document, but the Kirabook is so much better. I am having fun and loving the hell out of Windows 8. I live in a Mac vs. PC household and I am not even a little tempted to go Mac. Very happy with the Kirabook

Jcjc5555 (Miami,Fl.) :
Insane laptop. Sure a few people "Negative Nancy Types" can find anything wrong with everything they buy. It is a perfect unit. Kicks Apple where it hurts. fasts fast fast and more fast. the keys are real smooth. Changing to the Kirabook was like driving a Pinto and then getting in a Bentley. $2k is a drop in the bucket for what this thing is worth.

Sizatt (USD) :
I love my new laptop. I couldn't be happier. It is taking some getting used to using windows 8, but it will come with time.
I love the back light feature on the keyboard. The screen is bright and I love the weight of the laptop, so light to carry.
Looking forward to many years with it,

German Ariel Romani (CA) :
When I decided to purchase the product, the first thing that I analyze was the component, after that I was happily surprised with the product it self, the format, the wigth and the prestations. It was my first buy but now I will consider this manufacter more serious, when I want to upgrade to a better equipment

Oleg L. Frayman (WA) :
Good laptop for a student, last generation processor:
Con: windows 8 is horrible, wireless will require for you to download latest firmware from Toshiba. This laptop does not have touchscreen making Windows 8 very difficult to use.
Thanks

rbraz23 (USD) :
Pros: Incredibly fast I-7 Processor, High-end Nvidia graphics card for the price range, sleek backlit keyboard, high quality harmon/kodon speakers, nice metallic finish
Cons: Screen resolution is lacking, ever-so-slight scratching sound
I would have given this five stars had it not been for the lackluster screen resolution. Honestly, everything about this laptop would make you think it's a laptop priced over $1000 (I got it for $750 off Rakuten which used to be buy.com), except for the screen resolution. My mom also bought a laptop recently from Dell for $350 and it has the exact same screen resolution - now tell me there isn't something wrong with that. But otherwise, it's a powerful mid-range laptop that will probably last me for a while.

Ricardo Moore (WA) :
Solid machine, took me a while to get used to the exhaust being on the right hand side. Handles all of the stuff I use it for :- CorelDRAW x6, LoL, WoW, watching movies and basic word processing.

Hypnotoad (NJ) :
Title says it all. This laptop is great for the price... IF you can handle Windows 8. Dedicated 2gb gfx card makes gaming nice. Back lit keyboard is very nice for night/low light use.

Josh (Hope Village, n/a Trinidad and Tobago) :
I just purchased this computer for my girlfriend, and so far she loves it. I personally don't really like Windows 8 yet, especially when using the touchpad, but that is Microsoft's problem. The computer is fast, durable, and has a good sized screen. Perfect for her, as she mainly uses it for e-mail, movies, homework, and Pinterest. One thing to note is that the touchpad has quite a texture to it. Its a little awkward and doesn't have perfect touch response, and I foresee the pits collecting grime after a while. Overall, a great computer for the price!

Bob (Charleston, SC) :
Let me start off by saying that this computer cannot be beat with the pricing. it is fast, light, and user friendly. have had it scince April and it still works really well for email, Facebook, Netflix, and web browsing. great family product. I downloaded minecraft on it and it works really well!! it might not seem like it but i can get up to 25-30 fps on medium settings. It is a great product and cant be beat. i love it and use it every single day. my only problem is that the battery is small only 3-4 hours depending on what u r doing

Chris Hingle (Lancaster, SC) :
I really don't know what to say except wow. For the little we spent on this laptop we have been more than pleased. Windows 8 takes a bit of getting used to. Its no XP or 7 for sure, but then again on the plus side, its not Vista either, is it? :) This computer loads up super fast, and was compatible with the 1 terrabyte seagate go flex external hard drive we purchased to go with it. I have been using it the most and I cannot stop using it. I am at it most of the time. I love this computer. Best $400 @ i ever spent in my life.

Love the computer, it has great battery life and a lot of new features. It was a little hard to figure out out to navigate through at first.

James Thompson (Fairfax, VA USA) :
Fast, powerful. This is a great laptop, windows 8 is frustrating on a non touch screen but just default to desktop. Works great with video files and onboard speakers give nice sound. Fast boot. Case just a little flimsy but weight is low for 17 inch screen

Okinawa54 (olympia, wa) :
Was really impressed with this computers speed and excellent video output. Looked really great on my 4K TV the first day. Problem is on the second day, it would not power up. No lights, nothing, just dead. And yes, it was plugged in and charging....... Really glad I purchased from Amazon, easy return and refund. However, I'd much rather have a computer to send video to my TV instead of boxing it up to return to Amazon. Hope you all have better luck. Now I get to search again for a reliable lap top with UHD HDMI output. Any suggestions on another laptop with same video quality would be appreciated. One day of operation equals one star......

Alexis Pojomovsky (NY) :
This is a super piece of hardware! built with the last and most powerful amd chip to the date. The A10-5750M delivers a lot of power, enough for all my basics tasks and occasional gaming too! The display is simply amazing, the colors are vibrant, and the body feels strong and is very elegant!

This laptop is better than I expected. For those who are computer illiterate, its features might not be fully comprehensible.
Function keys can be altered in the advanced settings of the bios to either default to FN mode and depress the FN key to use standard F1, F2 type functions (default setting) OR it can be switched to having to use the FN key + function keys to get Toshiba functions to work.

Karamel (Las Vegas, NV) :
I'm picky when it comes to my computers because they never seem to work right for me. I decided to step away from my usual desktops and try laptops out for once, and I gotta say, I'm not at all disappointed. I'm still getting used to having to charge it every two hours or so, and making sure I'm not blocking the air vent, but it runs beautifully (minus the unnecessary mess that is Windows 8.) Games run perfectly even at the highest video quality, though it seems to have a hard time running anything else while I play.

Going into college I was looking for a good laptop but nothing fancy for my college budget. It's a great size, and I am starting to really like windows 8. The only thing is that the camera quality pretty much sucks, my iphone takes better pictures, but I don't really care because I don't spend time taking selfies or filming videos of myself for youtube or anything. Other than that, it's been perfect so far and was exactly what I was looking for.

Ronald D. Trom "Ron" (Florence, AZ) :
This is my wife's computer. She loves the touch screen, although there is some getting used to a new operating system.

foss (austin, tx) :
Besides what I mentioned in the subject, I was also bothered by the fact that a diamond lattice pattern is clearly visible on the screen with any source of glare. I don't have that issue with any other touchscreen device I have made in this decade.
Not being able to tilt the screen back that far really bothered me as well, especially due to the fact the screen glare is so bad on this laptop.
I did find the CPU and the integrated Intel HD 4000 GPU to be very good however.
I don't think I would recommend this laptop due to the screen glare and inability to tilt back far. It also lacks Bluetooth, which is bad.

Robert Todd Stoebener (Cameron, MO USA) :
Do not buy this. The price might be inviting but, you get what you pay for. The touchpad is awful. The keyboard in rather unresponsive. I keep having to go back and type things over and over due to the poor keyboard. RAM usage will all of the sudden spike making the computer unusable until you do a complete shutdown. I have loved my Toshibas in the past but, this model is junk.

Suzy (GRANBURY, TX, US) :
So far I am getting used to the new operating system. I'm not sure I like Windows 8. But the computer is fast and so sleek and beautiful. The keyboard is great with the raised tiles. I'll probably end up getting a mouse as I'm not fond of touch pads and find this one a little "touchy". I thinking I will learn to love this computer.

D M. (WA) :
The LCD Screen became blurry and unreadable after 10-12 days. I sent the computer in to Toshiba to have it repaired and I was told that was not covered under the warranty.
This is very unacceptable and no consumer should have to spend money on a computer and then have to pay to have it repaired.
